Getting Started with Pixuate

Pixuate is a platform that provides interfacing between web services and popular image processing libraries. We bring in the best practices and our considerable expertise to provide the user with a reliable and optimized engine to process and store images. We also have an integrated scalable storage solution to store raw and processed data to provide our users with a complete solution.

This document walks you through the process of creating a simple application with Pixuate. After reading this, you will be able to use Pixuate to create simple applications for processing images, and be ready to explore additional features and extensions available through Sphinx.

Install Pixuate and Dependencies

Pixuate is an Application Platform which is interfaced by REST API’s. You require no installation or dependencies as such, except a reliable internet connection to get started.

Signup for an Account

If you have not already created an account go to http://www.pixuate.com and click on Signup link and complete the process. You will get access to console at http://console.pixuate.com .

Image matching

Comapare 2 images as data/url, to detect similarities between 2 images or matching logo etc.

Face detection and recognition

Detects face(s) and sends you the details about who the person is, which is looked up in the private collection of images added by the user.

Object recognition

Detects and recognises objects trained by the user using private collection of images.

Up and Running Face Recognition

For demonstration purpose we will create a bucket , add objects to bucket , add sets to bucket , upload objects , train images , recognize faces .

Create a Bucket

From left menu choose “My Buckets”

Click on Add New button from top menu

Enter the fields

name : < give a appropriate name to bucket >

description : < appropriate for the kind of images to be stored (optional) >

service type : < "Simple Image Storage", "Face Recognition", "Object Detection/Recognition" >

share bucket : < choose from your collaborators (optional)>

Click on Create

Now you will see your bucket from list of buckets. Click on ‘bucket id’ field

Add objects to Bucket
